The Magic Scepter

Once upon a time, many many years ago in a far away land, was a placed called Silaria ruled by a very fair king and queen.  One day the queen had a very beautiful child.  They named her Rosie after her great grandmother.  When the king and queen got very old and were expecting to die soon, they called Rosie their daughter over and said, "We need to have a special talk with you. There is a special scepter that we rule, and when we die, there will be no one to take care of it. The scepter belongs to your great-great-great grandmother who started this kingdom.  The scepter is what rules the kingdom.  We want to give it to you but you have to promise to always take care of it.  If it breaks, then the whole kingdom breaks.  It has all of the power of the kingdom."  Rose nodded her head.

Three weeks later, the mother and the father became very ill.  There were many doctors that came, but it didn't seem to help.  The doctors said that the parents probably wouldn't live more than two more weeks.  Two and a half weeks later, the parents passed away.  Rosie realized what an important job she now had.

Many miles away, there lived an evil queen who was jealous of Rosie and wanted the scepter.  The evil queen was magical.  She made many, many monsters and attacked Rosie's kingdom.  Rosie used the scepter to fight the monsters but the more she killed, the more that came.  Finally, Rosie got really tired.  A couple of miles away from Salaria was another kingdom which had many many soldiers who could definitely destroy the evil queen's monsters.  Rosie called the kingdom and they came with thousands of soldiers.  Rosie was scared but after a while the battle was done and Salaria and the other kingdom had won.  But the scepter was getting weak because it had lost so much of it's power.  The scepter finally broke.  But Rosie realized that the scepter she had been using was a fake one from the evil queen with only a little bit of power in it.  She went in her room and found the real scepter.  Quickly she picked it up and fixed all of the damage from the battle.  And Rosie and the other kingdom had a great feast to celebrate that they won the battle.

Meanwhile, the evil queen was being attacked by the soldiers of the other kingdom.  And they defeated her.  So Rosie and Salaria and the other kingdom lived happily ever after.  The end.

Lily Learns a Lesson

Once upon a time, there lived a family with eight children and two parents.  The ages of the children were 1, 4, 5, 7, 10, 14, 16, and 20.  There names were Jill, Jack, Rosie, Olivia, Ethan, Arianna, Casey, and Lily.  They lived in Alaska.  And as you know, it was very cold in Alaska.  The children grew up with their father saying, "Whenever you go somewhere, you have to be prepare for bad weather."  And when they turned 7 years old, their father trusted them to know the rule.

One day, Lily wanted to go to her friend's house.  She saw that it was sunny and not very cold.  So she just put on a fleece and some mittens and she drove to her friend's house.  She ate snacks and played and watched movies and had lots of fun.  And then at 6 o'clock it was time for her to go.  She got in her car and she started to drive home.  Just then she saw that it had started to snow.  She wasn't worried though, because it was just a tiny bit of snow.  Then the snow storm started to get bigger and bigger and bigger.  And soon it was hard to see.  Then she pulled over because she couldn't see well enough and she started to get cold.  The snow was up to the trunk of her car.   And she couldn't move because she was stuck in a big pile of snow.

She wanted to call her dad but she was too embarrassed that she wasn't prepared like he had told her to be.  Lily called her dad and said, "Dad, I wasn't prepared and now I'm stuck in the snow and I need you to come and get me."  The dad said, "Well, I wish you would have been prepared since I stopped telling you 13 years ago.  I will come and get you, but this is the last time I'm going to do this."  So the dad came and brought Lily her coat and hat and a scarf.  She was in the middle of the freeway and they couldn't move the car, so they had to leave it there.  The dad drove Lily home. Now she knows that whenever her father says something, it is for a reason, and she never leaves the house again without being prepared.

A few days later, Lily and her dad rescued her car, and they were happy.  The End.

The Tale of Despereaux

Once upon a time in a far, far away land there lived a princess.  She lived in a happy, happy kingdom.  But the kingdom was very afraid of rats.  Every year they had a festival when they made a really good meal.  But once a rat wanted to come and smell the soup and he was at the top of the chain at the top of the Queen's soup.  The rat was smelling the soup so hard that he let go of the chain.  The Queen saw that the rat was in her soup, so she screamed!  And all of the knights came and the King said, "Get me that rat!"  The Queen was so scared that she died!  And then the King was even more mad.  For years and years, it wouldn't rain and the sun wouldn't come out.  The clouds just stayed and stayed and stayed.  But one day somebody felt a drop of rain on their head.  And they called, "Everybody, everybody, come outside!  The rain has started.  And the soup smells again!"  And then the King was happy again.  Then end.

The Famous Baker Catches the Robber

Once upon a time, there was a baker.  The baker's name was Cocoum.  He was very, very, very, very famous.  About every day, he had 1,000 people come to his bakery.  He sold cakes, cookies, pies, croissants, and lots of other ones.  Everyday, he earned about 200 dollars.  One day, there was someone who came to his bakery, but he didn't pay.  They saw him sneak out.  He got two cookies and one croissant.  So Cocoum called the workers that helped him at his shop.  One person that was very nice said, "I will pay his money to you.  I will pay my money for the money the person didn't pay."  Cocoum said, "Thank you but he stole and he has to pay his money."  Then they all ran outside and they saw footsteps.  They followed the footsteps and they belonged to the person who stole. They saw him but he was very far away.  Cocoum said, "Let's split up to go and find him because he might have seen us too!"  One of the groups found him but he did not see them.  Then they ran back to the baker and told him.  They all ran that way and caught him.  And they got his money.  Then they asked him, "Why did you steal?"  But he didn't answer, he just tried to get back to the bakery.  But the doors were locked.  Then, he gave up and the good guys got in with the keys they had.  And they lived happily ever after.  From that day on, no one ever stole again (well hopefully:).  The end.

The Warning from Rose

Once upon a time, there was a little house where there lived a family of gingerbread girls and boys.  They were all very adventurous.  One of them said, "Wouldn't it be nice to go out for a walk today?"  And his name was John.  Then a gingerbread girl named Rose said, "But remember the fox?  He loves to eat gingerbread girls and boys!"  And John said, "Oh, that fox is nothing."  But Rose said, "I'm not coming."  John said, "I'm still going."  And all the other gingerbread boys and girls stayed at home.  So John packed a lunch and decided to have a picnic on his walk.  John whistled on his way as he went into the forest.  Then all of a sudden, he saw a fox standing right in front of him. The fox chased John for ten minutes and just as the fox was about to eat him, all of the other gingerbread girls and boys ran out of the house.  They screamed, "If you eat John we'll hit you until he comes out!  We don't think you want us to hit you, so you better not eat John!"  So the fox did not eat John, and the gingerbread girls and boys never saw the fox again.  And they lived happily ever after.   The end.
